Valve has moved to try and prevent the use of alias binds to override the subtick system, but a workaround has already been found.
Valve has released another update to CS2, keeping up the almost daily pace of releases since the game was fully launched. The most contentious part of the update is the change to command aliases, but several bug fixes and a new sound for the final 10 seconds of bomb beeping were also included.
Valve has made adjustments to command aliases in this latest patch stating that they "now leverage subtick accuracy," which suggests the developer was intending to prevent players from subverting the subtick system. However, a workaround has already been found, with Mohan "launders" Govindasamy posting the solution on X.
Players had been using command aliases to essentially override subtick, resulting in more consistent grenade jump-throws and movement similar to 64 tick CS:GO.
Command aliases are particularly important for professional play as jump height is not consistent in CS2, as shown here by launders, resulting in difficulty jump-throwing grenades consistently.
The community were instantly critical of the change, particularly professional players. Whilst aliases intended to replicate CS:GO movement had already been banned by ESL for their tournaments, jump-throw aliases were allowed. This patch would have made said aliases useless, if not for the workaround.
Also included in the update were changes to sound, such as a reduction in the falloff distance of knife sounds, and various bug fixes.

Added a game setting cq_netgraph_problem_show_auto that allows players to enable automatic display of network connection issues in top right corner of game HUD.
