CS:GO Major Dates 2023

Posted by: SlayeR in News (Gaming Events)     Tags: Major 2023 Dates csgo
Valve has released the tentative dates for the upcoming CSGO majors in 2022 and 2023. The details were sent out to tournament organizers to invite proposals for the majors as well as the RMR tournaments.

Return to two Majors every year
Valve stated that they’ll be returning to two majors for 2022 and 2023. In the email, the targetted dates were put forward. Late May has been chosen as the timing for the first major in both years, whereas the second major will be held in early November.

The developer also emphasized the importance of the Major being held in a convenient time zone for the majority of CSGO fans and recommended that TOs consider the two prime times 16:00 CEST and 21:00 CEST in their bids. Dates and organizers for both of the CSGO Majors of 2022 are already revealed:

PGL Major Antwerp 2022 (May 5 – 22, 2022)
Intel Extreme Masters XVII – Rio Major 2022 (October 31 – November 13, 2022)
The team’s placement in both of the majors will contribute to their points in the BLAST Premier and ESL Pro Tour circuits and a winner of each major secures themselves a place at the BLAST World Final taking place in December.

One Regional Major Ranking event to be held in each region
The dates and details for the RMR circuit were also laid out in the email. One RMR event will be held in each region before the two majors. The tentative dates selected are Early April and Late September respectively. Valve will also be providing support for the prize pool, travel, and accommodation for these events. The regions for RMR events are:
  • Europe
  • North America
  • South America
  • CIS
  • Asia/Oceania

The regions have been updated keeping in mind the generally combined scene in Asia and Oceania and mark a return to the regional division from the Minor system. The two regions had been separated in the PGL Major RMR circuit due to difficulties in travel due to the pandemic.

The Major Circuit will continue with the PGL Stockholm Major which starts on October 23, 2021. After the cancellation of the ESL One Rio Major, last year the prize pool for the upcoming major has been doubled to $2 Million. Teams are currently fighting to qualify for the major in the various RMR tournaments.

Other CSGO S-Tier Tournaments in 2022
On the way to the majors, there are a few other S-Tier events that are a key part of this year’s CSGO competitive roadmap. Some are independent some contribute and interact with the majors. Either way, those events are a great place for some top-tier competitive play. Here are all the S-Tier CSGO events of 2022 (except for majors):

Intel Extreme Masters XVII – Dallas (May 30 – June 05, 2022)
BLAST Premier: Spring Finals 2022 (June 15 – 19, 2022)
