Gran Turismo 7 - Over 400 Cars To Collect

Posted by: Diablo in News (Upcoming Games)     Tags: Gran Turismo Over Cars Collect
Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi has revealed in a behind-the-scenes video that the upcoming Gran Turismo 7 will include over 400 cars including some of the "most fascinating cars from motoring history." The video was uploaded to the official PlayStation YouTube channel earlier today and showed off some of the game's cars in action.

In the video, Yamauchi explains that he believes an important part of car culture is being able to collect unique cars with "long histories behind them." He goes on to explain that the PS5 version of Gran Turismo 7 will feature "cutting-edge PS5-quality models" and that the sheer number of high-quality models makes the game "special."

Another behind-the-scenes video from PlayStation also revealed several other features that will be included in Gran Turismo 7 including the ability to fine-tune your cars to get increase their performance and design liveries. Unfortunately, we also discovered recently that the game will require an always online connection even in single-player, something fans aren't too pleased about.

There's hasn't been a mainline Gran Turismo game in almost seven years and Tamuachi seems to be making up for that with a heck of a lot of content. Gran Turismo 7 is still expected to launch exclusively on PS4 and PS5 on March 4th, 2022, although it's worth noting for PS4 buyers that you'll need to pay for the PS5 upgrade due to Sony's recently implemented policy on next-gen upgrades.

Gran Turismo 7 may be launching with over 400 cars, but the game's closest rival is also claiming to have a similar number of vehicles to play around with. It was announced last month that Forza Horizon 5 will also include over 400 vehicles at launch, with even more likely to be added via post-launch updates and DLC.

If you're a racing fanatic looking for a game to tide you over until the release of Gran Turismo 7 next year, Forza Horizon 5 is set to launch next month on November 9 for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. The game is currently available to pre-load and will take up a whopping 103GB of data on PC and Series X.
