In our Valorant Agent Guide you will find out information about Agents, their abilities and more, so let’s dive right into it!

Valorant, unlike Counter Strike Global Offensive, has a set of 10 agents you can choose from, each with his/her own set of abilities from which two(2) can be bought (just like grenades in CS:GO for example).

How to unlock Valorant agents
Some agents will be available as soon as you open the game like Phoenix, Sage, Sova, Brimstone, and Jett but others will have to be unlocked by playing matches, earning XP and leveling up!

Here’s a quick guide of each type of ability Valorant characters have:
  • Two purchasable abilities – Each character has two extra abilities that require charges bought from the store at the beginning of a round.
  • One signature ability – This ability is received an almost all agents for free at the beginning each round. How many times and how often you can use it varies between characters.
  • One ultimate ability – This very powerful ability requires multiple charges to use that are earned from kills or completing objectives.

Let’s go through each Valorant agent characteristics and abilities in detail:

SOVA
Sova -Type: Initiator – tracks, finds, and eliminates enemies with ruthless efficiency and precision. His custom bow and incredible scouting abilities ensure that even if you run, you cannot hide.

Abilities:
  • Shock Bolt (Cost: 100 Creds) – Fires a bolt that radiates damaging bursts of static energy on impact.
  • Owl Drone (Cost: 300 Creds) – Use a remote controlled, flying drone to scout the map and fire darts that reveal enemies.
  • Signature: Recon Bolt(Cost: Free) – Fires an arrow that emits sonar waves that marks and reveals nearby enemies for as long as it remains in place (can be destroyed).
  • Ultimate: Hunter’s Fury (Cost:7 charges) – Fires up to three energy blasts that pierce walls and travel the length of the map. Any enemies that are hit take near-fatal damage and are revealed to your team.


VIPER
Viper – Type: Controller – deploys an array of poisonous chemical devices to control the battlefield and cripple the enemy’s vision. If the toxins don’t kill her prey, her mind games surely will.

Abilities:
  • Snakebite (Cost: 100 Creds)- Fire a projectile that creates a pool of acid.
  • Poison Cloud (Cost: 200 Creds) – Throw a gas bomb that emits a cloud of poisonous smoke at the cost of fuel. You can retrieve the gas bomb and throw it again after a short cooldown.
  • Signature: Toxic Screen (Cost: Free) – Creates a line of gas emitters that can be activated to create a wall of toxic gas at the cost of fuel.
  • Ultimate: Viper’s Pit (Cost: 7 charges)- Creates a poison cloud that blankets a large area, letting Viper easily pick off enemies trapped within it.


SAGE
Sage – Type: Sentinel – creates safety for herself and her team wherever she goes. Able to revive fallen agents and stave off forceful assaults, she provides a calm center to a hellish battlefield.

Abilities:
  • Slow Orb (Cost: 100 Creds) – Throws an orb that creates a zone which slows any who pass through it, preventing them from jumping and emitting a distinct noise when they move through it.
  • Barrier Orb (Cost: 300 Creds) – Creates a large, impassable wall.
  • Signature: Healing Orb (Cost: Free) – Heals you or an ally over several seconds.
  • Ultimate: Resurrection (Cost: 7 charges) – Revive an ally to full health after a quick delay.


RAZE
Raze – Type: Duelist – loves explosives. With her blunt-force-trauma play style, she excels at flushing entrenched enemies and clearing tight battlefield spaces.

Abilities:
  • Blast Pack (Cost: 100 Creds) – Instantly throw a Blast Pack that will stick to the surfaces. Re-Use the ability after deployment to detonate, damaging and moving anything hit.
  • Boom Bot (Cost: 200 Creds)- Equip a Boom Bot. Fire will deploy the bot, causing it to travel in a straight line on the ground, bouncing off walls. The Boom Bot will lock on to any enemies in its frontal cone and chase them, exploding for heavy damage if it reaches them.
  • Signature: Paint Shells (Cost: Free) – Equip a cluster grenade. Fire to throw the grenade, which does damage and creates sub-munitions around, each doing damage to anyone in their range.
  • Ultimate: Showstopper (Cost: 6 charges)- Equip a rocket launcher. Fire shoots a rocket that does massive area damage on contact with anything.


PHOENIX
Phoenix – Type: Duelist – shines through in his fighting style, igniting the battlefield with flash and flare. Whether he’s got backup or not, he’s rushing in to fight on his own terms.

Abilities:
  • Blaze (Cost: 200 Creds) – Summon a wall of fire that blocks vision and hurts anyone passing through it. The wall can also be bent when casting.
  • Curveball (Cost: 100 Creds)- Throw a flashbang that can curve around corners.
  • Signature: Hot Hands (Cost: Free)- Throws a fireball that covers a small area in flames after a short wait or when it hits the ground. These flames damage your enemies but heal you.
  • Ultimate: Run it back (Cost: 6 charges) – Marks your current location and starts a short timer. When the timer expires, or if you die, you respawn at the marked location with full health.


OMEN
Omen – Type: Controller – hunts in the shadows. He renders enemies blind, teleports across the battlefield, then lets paranoia take hold as foes scramble to uncover where it might strike next.

Abilities:
  • Paranoia (Cost: 200 Creds) – Launch a shadow clone in a straight line that inflicts anyone it touches with blindness.
  • Shrouded Step (Cost: 100 Creds) – After a delay, teleport a short distance.
  • Signature: Dark Cover (Cost: Free) – Throw a stealthed orb that explodes into an obscuring sphere of shadow once it reaches its destination. Can be charged to increase its maximum distance.
  • Ultimate: From The Shadows (Cost: 7 charges) – You can teleport to anywhere on the map, but it takes a few seconds to complete. Enemies can see a “shade” at your destination and cancel your teleport by killing it. After teleporting, you become invincible for a short time.


JETT
Jett – Type: Duelist – play style is agile and evasive and lets her take risks no one else can. She runs circles around every skirmish, cutting enemies up before they even know what hit them.

Abilities:
  • Cloudburst (Cost: 100 Creds) – Throw a smoke grenade that obscures vision wherever it lands.
  • Updraft (Cost: 200 Creds) – Launch yourself upwards after a brief pause.
  • Signature: Tailwind (Cost: Free)- Dash a short distance in whatever direction you’re moving.
  • Ultimate: Blade Storm (Cost: 6 charges) – Wield several accurate throwing knives that deal moderate damage and kill on headshots. Getting a kill replenishes your daggers and you can choose to throw them one at a time or throw all remaining daggers in a short-ranged burst.


CYPHER
Cypher – Type: Sentinel – is a one-man surveillance network who keeps tabs on the enemy’s every move. No secret is safe. No maneuver goes unseen. Cypher is always watching.

Abilities:
  • Trapwire (Cost: 200 Creds) – Place a tripwire between two walls that restrains and reveals enemies who cross it for a short time. Can be retrieved and reused.
  • Cyber Cage (Cost: 100 Creds) – Places a trap that, when activated, slows enemies who pass through it. Cypher can also detonate the traps, either one at a time or all at once.
  • Signature: Spycam (Cost: Free) – Place a remote camera that can be manually operated to fire tracking darts at enemies.
  • Ultimate: Neural Theft (Cost: 7 charges) – Steal information from a dead enemy, revealing the location of their allies.


BRIMSTONE
Brimstone – Type: Controller – is a powerful commander that utilizes incendiary grenades, smokescreen airstrikes and buff teammates. His impressive Orbital Strike ultimate summons an enormous laser that destroys anyone who doesn’t move out of the radius fast enough

Abilities:
  • Incendiary (Cost: 200 Creds) – Throw an incendiary grenade that coats an area in flames.
  • Stim Beacon (Cost: 100 Creds)- Select an area to call in this beacon that gives any player nearby a boost to fire speed.
  • Signature: Sky Smoke (Cost: 100 Creds)- Use your map to call in multiple smokescreens that block vision.
  • Ultimate: Orbital Strike (Cost: 6 charges) – Call in a deadly orbital strike that strikes a targeted area repeatedly over several seconds.


BREACH
Breach – Type: Initiator – fires powerful, targeted kinetic blasts to aggressively clear a path through enemy ground. The damage and disruption he inflicts ensures no fight is ever fair.

Abilities:
  • Aftershock (Cost 100 Creds) – Fire an explosive charge that breaches through walls and damages enemies standing near it.
  • Flashpoint (Cost: 200 Creds)- Fire a flash charge into a wall that flashes enemies on the opposite side.
  • Signature: Fault Line (Cost: Free) – Create a concussive quake in a straight line in front of Breach that disorients enemy aim and travels through walls.
  • Ultimate: Rolling Thunder (Cost: 7 charges) – Fire a powerful seismic charge that travels through walls, dazes opponents, and knocks enemies upward.
