Every newbie who is just starting to plunge into an insane storm of contradiction begins to hear about the config. This is a very relevant topic for most, since everyone is interested in what settings their favorite esportsman or youtuber uses. Kfg is one of the few things that can directly affect the gameplay, or rather, the comfort from it. Therefore, it will be useful for beginners to know how to put the config in CS: GO.
What is config? Config, also known as cfg or cfg, is a game configuration file that stores all settings, including mouse settings, controls, screen resolutions, etc. You can also enter your own commands there, just like in the console. It provides a bunch of different settings, thanks to which you can increase the performance in the game well. Because of this, the correct configuration of the config is very much appreciated, because it is trite to play with it.
The config, like a regular file, can be copied and deleted. The default settings are always restored automatically upon restart. Therefore, you can not be afraid to lose the config only if it is not custom.
How to install cfg in CS:GO Setting up the config is very simple. Since this is a regular file, you need to download it, and then place it in the cfg folder in the game directory. This is where you need to copy this file.
If this folder is missing, then the config is located in the "User Data" folder, which is in the Steam directory. It is enough to go there, open the folder with the number of your Steam account and there will be a CS folder, where the standard config will patiently lie. Accordingly, you just need to put the freshly downloaded one next to it.
After downloading, the new config must be activated, and here's how to enable the config in the CS:GO:
Open console.
Enter enter this command: exec * config.cfg * . Instead of * config.cfg * there should be the name of the downloaded config (for example: exec markeloff.cfg).
To save your own written config: host_writeconfig * config name *
After using this command, all changes will be applied automatically. You can immediately start trying kfg.
How to find the folder with the game To open the game files you will need:
Login to Steam.
Go to the library.
Right-click on the CS: GO icon.
Select "Manage" and click on "View local files" .
You can copy the config or search for the files you need.
